Category icons — which one shows where
Main categories always have an icon; sub-categories can have their own. Here’s the rule for which appears.

Icons make a menu scannable — a cup for Coffee, a leaf for Salads. There are styles to pick from, or you can leave a sub-category without one and let it borrow.
The rule
- A main category always has an icon — pick one when you create it; a default is used until you do.
- A sub-category can have its own icon. If it does, that’s what shows.
- If it doesn’t, it shows its main category’s icon. If neither has one, no icon — never a random placeholder.
The scenario
Drinks has a glass icon. Inside it, Coffee gets a cup of its own; Juices you leave alone. Coffee shows the cup; Juices shows the glass.
Picking one
- 1Open the category and press Choose icon.
- 2Pick a style — Standard, Classic (line icons that take your brand colour) or Vintage (painted ones that keep their own) — then type into Search icons….
Where icons appear
- On the QR menu’s category navigation — tabs, the glass chips, or the sheet, depending on your design.
- On the POS in Categories first mode, on every category card.
TipPick icons from one style per menu. Mixing line icons and painted ones reads as two different restaurants.
