A day, start to finish
The fastest way to understand Menulisa is to walk through a normal day. Here’s how a single service flows from unlocking the door to counting the cash — and which screen handles each step.
Before you open
- 1Unlock the POS terminal by tapping your name and entering your PIN.
- 2Open a shift on the cash drawer and enter your opening float — the cash you’re starting with. See Cash drawer & shifts.
- 3Glance at the floor plan so you know which tables are which.
During service
- 1A guest sits down. Tap their table to open a check.
- 2Add what they order — pick the item, choose any size or extras, add a note like “no onions.”
- 3Tap “Send to kitchen” to fire it. The order pops up on the kitchen display straight away.
- 4Cooks bump each ticket as it’s plated; runners take it out.
- 5Guests can also scan the QR code on their table to browse the menu themselves while they wait.
When they're ready to pay
- 1Open the check and tap “Pay.”
- 2Take the whole bill, or split it — equally between guests, or by who ordered what.
- 3Add a tip if they’d like, choose cash or card, and confirm.
- 4Offer a receipt; the table is now free for the next guests.
At the end of the night
- 1Close your shift on the cash drawer and count the cash in the till.
- 2Menulisa shows the variance — expected vs counted — and prints a Z-report.
- 3Next morning, check yesterday’s numbers under Dashboard › Reports › Daily close.
That’s the whole loop. Everything else in Menulisa — reservations, loyalty, reports, inventory — sits around this core flow to make it smoother.
