Item options & details
Every item can carry rich detail so guests order confidently and your kitchen gets it right the first time.
What an item can hold
- Variants — sizes or styles like Small / Large, with a price difference per option.
- Add-ons — paid extras such as an extra shot or a side.
- Allergens & nutrition — allergen tags plus calories, protein, carbs and fat. Type the numbers yourself, or leave them blank and Menulisa derives them from the item’s recipe automatically.
- Chef’s Pick — a badge that highlights the item on the guest menu in your theme’s colors.
- Removable ingredients — mark recipe ingredients as removable (“no onions”) so staff can tap them off on the POS; the kitchen ticket, receipt and stock counts all follow.
- Nutrition sticker — opt a dish in, and a kcal / protein / carbs / fat label prints for every bowl when the order fires — using your typed values when set, otherwise the recipe-derived ones, exact for that bowl’s size, extras and removals. See Connecting printers.
- Photos — uploads are auto-optimised into responsive image sizes.
- Availability — flip an item to sold-out instantly, or restrict it to certain hours (“available all day” is just the default).
- Kitchen routing — send this dish’s tickets to a specific station (hot, cold, bar) — see Kitchen stations & routing.
- Translations — manual EN / AR / KU names and descriptions, with full right-to-left support.
Add options to an item
- 1Open an item from Dashboard › Menu.
- 2Add variant groups (e.g. “Size”) and the options within them.
- 3Add any add-ons and set their price.
- 4Tag allergens, set calories, upload a photo and save.
A default variant can be pre-selected so the most common choice is one tap away on the POS and guest menu.
