Grow your business

Analytics, explained

Menulisa gives you two ways to look at your numbers, and they answer different questions. Knowing which to open saves you a lot of clicking.

Reports vs Analytics

  • Reports answer “how did today go?” — one day, one branch, with the cash-up and a print-friendly layout for end of shift.
  • Analytics answer “how is the business doing?” — any date range, with trends, comparisons and deep breakdowns.

What Analytics shows

  • Headline numbers — net sales, orders, average spend, guests — with the change versus the previous period.
  • Sales broken down by item, category, order type, payment method, table and server.
  • Who your customers are: new versus returning, and how often they come back.
  • Menu performance: your stars and your slow movers.
  • Profitability: sales against food cost so you see margin, not just takings.

Reading a date range

  1. 1Open Dashboard › Reports › Analytics.
  2. 2Pick a range — today, last 7 days, this month, or a custom span — from the date picker.
  3. 3Turn on Compare to see the same figures for the period before, so you know if you're up or down.
Use Analytics weekly to spot trends and decide what to change; use Reports daily to reconcile the till. Different jobs, different screens.
