Your first category and its items
Main categories, sub-categories, and an item with sizes and add-ons — built the way guests will read it.

A menu is two levels: main categories (Food, Drinks) and the sub-categories inside them (Burgers, Salads). Items live in sub-categories. Keep mains few and full, and the QR menu stays one clean strip of tabs.
The scenario
You’re opening with burgers. You want Food › Burgers with a Classic Burger in two sizes and an optional extra patty.
Build it
- 1Open Menu › Items. Press New main category and call it Food. Inside it, press Add sub-category and call it Burgers.
- 2Press Add item in Burgers: name Classic Burger, a short description, a price.
- 3Under Variants (sizes / options) add a group called Size with Single and Double (+3.00). Star Single as the Default option so it’s one tap on the POS.
- 4Under Add-ons (extras) add Extra patty (+4.00). Fill in Allergens, upload a photo, save.
- 5Drag to reorder — the order here is exactly the order guests and staff see.
What you’ll see
- On the QR menu: Food as a tab, Burgers as a section, the burger with its photo and “from” price.
- On the POS: the same tree. Tapping the burger asks for the size and offers the extra patty.
- On the kitchen ticket: 1 x Classic Burger, (Double), + Extra patty.
TipFewer, fuller main categories beat many thin ones. Five mains with six sub-categories each reads as a menu; fifteen mains reads as a spreadsheet.
