Pairing a new till, two ways
Connect an iPad with a pairing code, or approve the Mac/Windows app from your dashboard without typing anything on it.

A till isn’t logged in like a person — it’s paired to a branch once, and stays paired. Tablets and phones pair with a code; the Mac and Windows app asks your dashboard to let it in.
The scenario
A new iPad for the terrace, and a new Mac for the bar counter. You’re at your desk; a waiter is holding the iPad on the terrace.
The iPad: a pairing code
- 1On the dashboard, open POS › Devices, pick the Terrace branch and press Pair a terminal. Under What are you pairing? choose Till, type a Terminal name and press Show pairing code. A QR code appears beside the code.
- 2On the iPad, open the POS. It shows Pair this terminal. The waiter presses Scan QR code and points the camera at your screen — or types the code into Pairing code. The code works once and expires after 15 minutes.
- 3Done. The iPad is now a Terrace till. Give it a name on the dashboard — Terrace iPad — so it’s recognisable in reports and logs.
The Mac: approve it from the dashboard
- 1Install the Menulisa POS app from POS › Devices (under Get the apps) and open it. Choose Sign in. It asks What is this computer? — the bar already has a counter till, so pick Additional terminal (only one computer per branch is the Main terminal). It finds the main terminal on the Wi‑Fi; press Connect.
- 2Your browser opens a dashboard page called Connect a terminal. Check the Code on the device matches the one on the Mac, pick the Branch, type a Terminal name — Bar Mac — and press Approve & connect. If you don’t recognise the request, press Deny.
- 3You’ll see Terminal connected — you can close this tab. The app finishes on its own within a few seconds. Nothing was typed on the Mac.
What you’ll see
- Both devices listed under POS › Devices with their branch and name.
- On each device, the PIN screen: staff unlock the till with their own PIN, so every action carries a name.
TipPairing is per device, not per person. A waiter’s PIN is what changes between shifts; the pairing never does. A pairing code is single-use and expires — if one has gone stale, generate a new one rather than hunting for the old.
