Tonight’s bookings on the POS
The Reservations page: who’s due, who’s late, who has no table yet — and seating them in one tap.
2 min read
The POS keeps the day’s book on its own page, like Payment history: bookings by time slot on the left, the booking you tapped on the right. Open it from ≡ › Reservations — the number beside it is today’s upcoming bookings.
Read the day
- Today · Tomorrow · Pick a day switch the day. Past days open read-only, so you can look up last week’s no-shows; a dot in the month marks a day with 10 or more bookings.
- The track Upcoming · Seated · No-show · Cancelled splits the day (Upcoming first). Search finds a guest by name or phone.
- Each row shows when the booking starts and ends (7:30–9:00 pm), the party, its table(s), a returning guest’s N visits, and a badge: Late 10 min in amber, Due in 20 min, In 1 h 50 min, Seated 6:34 pm. A booking without a table reads No table yet in amber.
Seat a party
- 1Tap the booking. The pane shows the phone (with a copy button), tables, notes and the guest’s last visits.
- 2Press Seat now · T14 + T16. The party is seated on every booked table and their check opens straight away — the same as the floor’s Seat this booking.
- 3No table yet? Seat now asks which free table first. A seated booking shows Open check #1051 instead.
Book, change, cancel
- New booking opens the booking form beside the tables. The picker opens on Cards or Floor — whichever this terminal’s Service screen uses.
- Pick how long the table is held under Duration: 1 h · 1½ h · 2 h · 3 h, or More for 30 min up to 6 h (new bookings start at 1½ h). The When picker then counts the tables free for that whole stay.
- A table already held then is greyed and says when it’s free — Free 9:00 pm, or Booked 7:30 when another booking starts within the hour. Tapping it buzzes with a red ✕ and a note like “T9 · booked 7:30–9:00 pm · free from 9:00 pm”. A table a later booking cuts into stays pickable with Until 8:30: the guests just need to leave by then.
- Edit and Move table change the guest, time, party or tables; Mark no-show needs a second tap; Cancel booking asks once and keeps the booking in the Cancelled list with who cancelled it and when.
- On the floor, a booking due soon with no table shows one amber line — View booking opens it here. The due banner in a table’s dialog has View booking in Reservations too.
TipAnyone on the till can read the book; changing bookings needs the Manage bookings & waitlist permission. Walk-ins still join the queue from the Service screen’s ⋯ › Add to waitlist.
