Taking a booking and seating it
From the phone call to the party sitting down with a check already open.
1 min read
A booking is a promise for a table at a time. When the party arrives, seating it does two things at once: marks them seated and opens their check, so nobody re-types the party at the till.
The scenario
Wednesday, a call: Mrs Karim, party of 6, Saturday 8pm. On Saturday they arrive at 7:55.
Wednesday: take it
- 1Open CRM › Reservations and press New booking. Name, phone, Party size 6, Date & time Saturday 20:00. Under Table (optional) assign T12 now, or leave it for the night.
- 2It shows as Confirmed and counts toward Saturday’s expected covers. If Mrs Karim is a saved customer, the booking also appears on her profile timeline.
Saturday: seat them
- 1On the POS floor, T12 shows Reserved · 20:00 as the time approaches. Tap it.
- 2Choose Seat this booking. The booking becomes Seated and T12’s check is open with 6 guests and Mrs Karim already attached.
- 3Or from ≡ › Reservations on the POS: tap Mrs Karim in the 8:00 pm slot and press Seat now · T12 — same result, and you land in her check.
- 4From the dashboard instead: open the booking and press Seat & open check — the POS picks the check up.
If they don’t come
Open the booking’s ⋯ menu and mark it No-show (or Cancelled if they rang) — on the POS, the booking’s Mark no-show / Cancel booking buttons do the same. Both stay on the guest’s history, so a pattern of no-shows is visible next time they book.
TipBookings are per branch. Switch branches at the top of the dashboard before adding one, or Saturday’s party will be expected at the wrong address.
