The Sunday-night stock count
Start a count, type what you see, approve the differences — and read the report on Monday.

Sales deplete stock automatically. A count is how reality corrects the numbers: you type what is actually on the shelf, and Menulisa posts the differences as adjustments — visibly, with a name on them.
The scenario
Sunday close. Forty stock items. The system thinks there are 18 kg of beef patties; there are 15.
Count it
- 1Open Inventory › Stock and the Counts tab. Under Start a stock count leave Scope on Everything and press Start count. You’ll see Stock count started and a Count in progress banner.
- 2Walk the shelves. For each item, type the Counted quantity — beef patties 15 — or press Match when it equals Expected. The bar reads 12 of 40 counted and climbs.
- 3At the end it says 3 items differ from expected — review before approving. Look at the three. Then press Approve; it asks Approve this count? 3 counted lines will post their differences as adjustments. Confirm — Count approved — adjustments posted.
What you’ll see
- Beef patties now read 15 kg, and the item’s activity shows a −3 kg adjustment from the count, with your name.
- Under Count reports: the count, Approved by, Stock value, and every line’s expected versus counted. There’s a CSV.
- Stock that quietly disappears between counts is the number to watch — a count is the only thing that measures it.
TipCount while the kitchen is closed, and count everything at once. A partial count with sales happening in between produces differences that mean nothing.
