Importing a menu from a spreadsheet
Download the template, fill it in, upload it, fix the two rows it flags, and decide what to do with duplicates.

If your menu already lives in a spreadsheet, you don’t type it again. The importer takes a CSV in a fixed shape, checks every row before it touches your menu, and tells you exactly what it will and won’t do.
The scenario
Forty items in an Excel file from the old system. Two of them are already in Menulisa from your first day.
Do it
- 1Open Menu › Items and press Import CSV. In Import menu from CSV, press Download template and fill it: category, sub-category, item name, price, description.
- 2Press Choose a CSV file. The dialog reads it and reports: 38 will import · 2 already in menu · 1 can’t import, and 1 row(s) need fixing — Row 17 · Invalid price (a comma where a dot should be). Fix the file and choose it again.
- 3For the two duplicates choose Skip (keep existing items unchanged) or Replace (overwrite with the CSV values). Press Import 38 item(s) — Imported 38 item(s).
What you’ll see
- The categories and sub-categories from the file, created if they didn’t exist, with the items inside — in the order of the file.
- Photos, variants and add-ons aren’t in a spreadsheet: add those afterwards, starting with the best-sellers.
- The most common rejection is Missing sub-category: every item needs one, because that’s where items live.
TipImport once, then edit in Menulisa. Importing the same file twice with Replace is how a week of photo work gets overwritten.
