A second branch with a shorter menu

Keep one menu, mark the parts only some branches serve, and check the result in the branch overview.

You keep one menu. Every main category, sub-category and item is available everywhere until you say otherwise; the moment you pick branches for it, it’s only there. Nothing is copied, so a price change is still one edit.

The scenario

The main restaurant serves everything. The new kiosk in the mall does drinks and pastries only — no kitchen.

Do it

  1. 1Open Menu › Items. On the Food main category, open Available at: it says All branches. Untick the kiosk. You’ll see Branch availability updated and the badge now reads 1 branch.
  2. 2Do the same for anything else the kiosk can’t make. Leave Drinks and Pastries on All branches.
  3. 3Open Branch availability — “How your menu changes from one branch to the next.” The main restaurant shows Full menu; the kiosk lists the Branch-specific menu parts it doesn’t get. With nothing restricted it would say Every part of your menu is available at all branches.

What you’ll see

  • Scan a kiosk table QR: drinks and pastries. Scan one at the main restaurant: everything.
  • The kiosk POS lists only what it can sell, so nobody rings up a burger with no kitchen behind them.
  • Change the croissant price once; both branches change.
TipRestrict at the highest level that’s true. Hiding the Food main category is one click; hiding forty dishes one by one is forty, and the forty-first slips through.
