Reading your plan and switching it

What the Billing page shows, how limits read, and what happens when you change plan.

2 min read

Settings › Billing is your Menulisa subscription: the plan you’re on, how much of it you use, and the way to your payment method and invoices. It is the only page that is about paying us.

The scenario

You’re on the trial, opening a second branch next month, and want to know what changes.

Read it

  1. 1The Your plan card shows the plan, Billed monthly or Billed yearly, a status — Trial, Active, Past due or Cancelled — and the Next invoice (on a trial, Trial ends and what it costs after). Usage shows your branches, staff and menu items against the plan’s limits. Compare plans jumps to the plans below.
  2. 2Under Change plan, toggle Monthly / Yearly to compare. Each plan card has a Branches stepper — Add a branch / Remove a branch — and the line under it shows the extra-branch surcharge and the new total as you go.
  3. 3On the plan that fits, set the stepper to 2 and press Switch plan (or Subscribe if you’re not on one yet). On the plan you’re already on, the button becomes Update to 2 branches. Either way a confirmation shows Now and After before anything changes. If the page says To change your plan, contact us and we’ll update your subscription. — do that instead.
  4. 4Your card and invoices live in the Stripe billing portal: Manage subscription (in the bar at the top, or on the Payment method & billing history card) opens it once billing is live.

What you’ll see

  • A feature your plan doesn’t include shows a locked card with a short explanation and a link to plans — nothing breaks, it just asks.
  • Staff see Ask the restaurant owner to upgrade the plan to unlock this. — only owners change plans.
  • Past due doesn’t switch the till off mid-service; it blocks the dashboard until the payment method is fixed.
TipCheck the branch limit before the lease, not after. Adding a branch on a plan that allows one is the most common “why can’t I…” we hear.
